I have one of my favorite freebies for you – the Take One 2017 Toolkit. It is a life-changing document that has transformed my teaching practice year after year.
I am so excited to share this with you. Feel free to share this with any friends or colleagues.
I have been reflecting on 2016 over the holiday break & decided on a focus as I prepared to replace another colleague’s classroom & her ten students at our sister site. Trying to learn& create the LEP’s according to this site’s curriculum coach’s criteria, give the room a makeover that she approves of, & all the other responses according to this site is now overwhelming.
That is so great you are already reflecting and focusing. One trick I have done in the past when I am faced with a site that holds a massive amount for me to wrap my brain around – is to batch the areas of information. I take colored index cards and identify the top areas the site or source are providing. You can also do this for free on Trello. And then as I dig into the site – I capture the most important points on to my index cards or Trello. I am not trying to get detailed. All I want to do is get an eagle’s view. It helps my retention as I do dig deeper. You can do this! You got this!
Thanks for the pointers. It is helpful to learn how others cope with learning a lot of new material!
I am a born researcher and have honed my process. I think is interesting to see how others undertake important areas of knowledge.
I am finishing up my college courses for a A.A. degree with early childhood emphasis and am working as an assistant teacher at Head Start. I am always looking for ways to grow and better myself as a teacher. Your web site has been an amazing blessing to me! Your downloads are a great tool and I am so thankful you share them!!! I have the summer off from the classroom and am looking forward to soaking up all your information and working on becoming the best I can be.
Congrats on such a big accomplishment and thank you for being on the front line for our youngest learners. I am so glad you are joining us on this journey, Mandy!
