I have been sharing the wonderful things I saw while visiting All Around Child in Overland Park, KS. So far we have explored the common areas, hallways, and the beautiful classrooms. Now you will get to see the masterpiece that is the outside play areas, but they are so much more than that. They are areas that have been created to encourage exploration, wonder, experiments, and of course fun. See for yourself…
This is the glorious butterfly garden that the students have created.
The children painted and bedazzled, if you will, old yogurt containers to re-purpose them into planters.
In the Sound Garden, children have access to cow bells and a drum set.
The drum set is made from re-purposed tin cans! Nothing goes to waste.
The mud kitchen provides a space for children to get creative and dirty while practicing every day life skills.
The school garden. Each class shares a bed with another class to till, plant, and harvest.
These adorable dragonflies adorn the garden area. They are of course created out of old ceiling fan blades and banisters. This little fella has lost his wing, but I thought it was such a great idea I decided to share.
There were several tires on the playground for the students to use in their play.
These outdoor art easels were made from those re-purposed cribs. How creative!
I truly enjoyed my time visiting All Around Child. I hope you got some great ideas and feel inspired to create your perfect outdoor space.
