I began by setting out a canvas I had painted black. I put out a variety of fall colors including purple (tempera).
I just let the children paint. I put the canvas out everyday for a week. I just let it unfold as the children decided what colors and items to add. . .
We added leaves, pine cones, sticks. . .
Some of the leaves and found items became a part of the swish of paint.
The end result was stunning.
I love this idea and can’t wait to try something similar with my PK integrated arts/music class.
That IS beautiful!
Plan on incorporating this idea into a second grade classroom. Kids really do learn to appreciate the beautiful colors of Fall! We are so fortunate to live in Oklahoma and have the opportunity to enjoy the variety of all four seasons. Thanks for this reminder!
Love the seasonal canvas theme…thinking winter and how it sparkles with ice crystals and prisms of light!
I love seasonal textures and moods expressed on canvas. It is so rich and vibrant!!
how do they stick the fall leaves ? with glue or ??
