This week I pulled out a huge bag of boxes and containers I have saved for “Creation Station.” I told the children they were to create (invent) something that they can use. (I provided construction paper, glue, scissors, tape) What they created had to have a purpose. The class went to a quiet purr for the first time since Spring Break during the late afternoon – here is a peek at what they created:
A puppet theater with puppets (taped on the pens – this student started digging into my stuff to find the pens!! I noticed this when she took down a lamp shade off the lamp for the puppet theater!!)
A factory for . . . it is not done yet the student said.
I love the creation station. You have inspired me to ask for boxes, containers, tubes, etc from parents grocery items. Thanks!!
